Guidelines
Guidelines
- check the patient's vital signs (P., R., T.A.), respiratory sounds (wheezing, draft, stertorous breathing) and general condition to be able to compare with his condition after aspiration;
- the concentration of blood gases is checked, as indicated by the doctor, by collecting arterial blood;
- check the patient's ability to breathe deeply and cough, because these maneuvers help to mobilize the secretions towards the upper part of the tracheobronchial tree, facilitating their aspiration;
- în cazul în care se efectuează aspiraţie nasotraheală, se va face un istoric al pacientului în ceea ce priveşte deviaţia de sept, polipii nazali, epistaxisul, traumele nazale, etc.;
- the diameter of suction probes must be less than half the diameter of the tracheostomy or intubation probe to minimize hypoxia during suction;
- aspiration must be performed regularly, every 3 hours or more often if the patient is very loaded.
